Lanore Mae Setzer Andrews passed away on Sunday February 15, 2015.
Mrs. Andrews was born in McDonough, GA on April 21, 1925 to the late Mae Lanore Martin and Franklin Martin Setzer, Sr. Lanore graduated from Commercial High School in Atlanta in June 1943 and married her husband of sixty-nine years, Ralph (Bob) Andrews, in October, 1943. While Bob served in the Army Air Corps during WWII, Lanore worked for the Army 4th Service Command in Special Services as a Secretary. Lanore did not hear from her husband for over one year as he was shot down over Germany, wounded, and held as a POW. At the end of the war she supported her husband working as a secretary while he completed his degree at Georgia Tech. They lived in Easley, SC for over thirty years and were members of Bethesda Methodist Church in Powdersville. Theirs was a love story for the ages and an example for their family. Her greatest interest was her love for family and friends.
Mrs. Andrews is survived by a daughter, Diana Allen and husband Jerry of Palm Harbor, FL; a son, Steven Andrews and wife Sherry of Chesapeake, VA; five granddaughters, and six great grandchildren. Mrs. Andrews was predeceased by her husband, Ralph (Bob), her brothers, Frank and Johnny, her sister, Unetta, and a granddaughter, Elizabeth.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 19, 2015 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
