Larry Eugene Atkinson, 62, of 415 West Arial Street, died Monday September 29, 2008.

Mr. Atkinson was born in Pickens County, a son of the late William Frank and Mamie Christine Lesley Atkinson. He was a paint contractor for many years and more recently owned and operated A & A Auto Sales.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy Godfrey Atkinson, of the home ; a son, Robert "Robby" Larry Atkinson (Holly), of Easley ; a daughter, Jenny Richardson (Donnie McCall), of Pendleton ; brothers, Wayne E. Atkinson (Elaine), Gerald Atkinson (Vicki) and Ronnie Atkinson, all of Easley, Michael Atkinson (Angie), of Liberty ; sisters, Shelby Smith (Wallace) and Sandra Cox (Grant), all of Easley, Brenda Morris (Junior), of Liberty and Shirley Whitman, of Pickens; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren ; and a favorite nephew, Ricky Atkinson, of Pelzer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, David and Dennis Atkinson and a sister, Linda Swope.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road with the Reverend John Revis and Reverend Franklin Lesley officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.

Family members are at their respective homes and will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
