Larry Frederick Mayfield, 75, of Easley, South Carolina, loving husband of Teresa Ann Mayfield, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023.

Born on September 9, 1948, in Piedmont, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Frederick Harper and Pauline Crowe Mayfield. Larry led a remarkable life filled with love for his family and his church. Larry worked as a Car Hauler for over 30 years. Larry's commitment to his work was admirable, and he earned the respect of his colleagues and peers. Larry's greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family. He deeply cherished the moments he shared with his beloved grandsons. Their favorite activities together was shooting guns and practicing marksmanship, camping, and going to races. Larry derived immense satisfaction from passing down his knowledge and skills to the younger generation. An outgoing individual, Larry had an infectious personality that immediately brightened any room he entered. He had a natural ability to make others feel at ease with his friendly demeanor and warm smile. Larry's presence would light up family gatherings and social events alike. Apart from his professional pursuits and family life, Larry was an active member of his church, Trinity Baptist Church. Larry Frederick Mayfield leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. His unwavering commitment to his family, generosity, and vibrant personality made him truly unforgettable. The impact he had on those who knew him will be felt for years to come.

In addition to his wife of 56 years, Larry is survived by a son, Chris Mayfield (Martha); a daughter, Dixie Mayfield Chavez (Isaias); and two grandsons, Shane Chavez, and Tristan Isaias Chavez.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Shane Mayfield; and a sister, Carolyn June Mayfield.

The family will host a memorial service on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Trinity Baptist Church, 3570 Pelzer Highway, Easley, SC 29642.
