Larry Hayward Smith, 82, formerly of Summerville, SC, husband of Ida Carlisle Smith died Monday, September 7, 2015 at the Sterling House in Central, SC.
Born in Danville, VA, he was a son of the late Robert Hayward and Jessie Mae Boyd Smith. He retired after 42 years as a Water Plant Operator with the Commissioners of Public Works in Summerville, was a Mason, an amateur artist, loved kids and repaired kids' toys. He was a member of Boone Hill United Methodist Church in Summerville.
Surviving in addition to his wife are son, Scott Smith of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Joni (Jim) Campbell of Pendleton, SC and Jamie (Tommy) Graham of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Summer Haugh and Erin Petrini; and great grandchildren, Connor Haugh and Keira Haugh.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at a time and date announced by Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, SC.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Helping Hands of Clemson, P.O. Box 561, Clemson, SC 29633.
