Jesse LaTrelle "Trelle" Lisenby, 84, of Central, died Thursday, December 23, 2010 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born June 28, 1926 in Clinch County, Georgia, she retired from Redfern Health Center at Clemson University. She was a daughter of the late Randall Jackson and Lola Dukes Griffis of Homerville, Georgia.
Survivors include her son, Marc Lisenby and wife Mary Lisenby of Lilburn, Georgia; daughter, Tina Lisenby of Central, as well as her son-in-law, Dale Chandler of Central. LaTrelle is also survived by three grandchildren: Jake Chandler, Luca Vullo, and Adamo Vullo. Surviving siblings include a brother, Jackie Griffis, and sisters Jennette Berry and Marcia McQuaig.
LaTrelle was preceded in death by her parents and brothers�?"Robert Griffis and Norman "Pud" Griffis, and Kenneth Cullen "Bo" Griffis�?"and her daughter, Donna Lisenby Chandler.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, at Refuge Baptist Church, officiated by The Reverend Chad Campbell. Visitation will follow in the church fellowship hall. The family will receive visitors after the service at the home of Dale Chandler, 3416 Refuge Road, Central.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Refuge Baptist Church, 219 Refuge Church Road, Central, SC 29630, or the Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621, organizations which LaTrelle supported.
LaTrelle was affectionately referred to as "Granny" by many people who knew her. Her presence and selfless consideration will be dearly missed. She leaves behind a family who are blessed to have shared life with her and who will fondly remember her dynamic personality.
