LaVerne Owen Grant, 88, of Edgewood Avenue, and wife of the late Hubert Eugene Grant, passed away Friday November 20, 2015.


Born in Rosman, NC, Silversteen Community, she was the daughter of the late R.V. and Juanita Lowe Owen.


Mrs. Grant was retired in 1993 from Kent Mfg. now Kent Wool, in Pickens after 34 years of dedicated service.


Mrs. LaVerne was a devoted and loving member of Jones Avenue Baptist Church.  She was a proud member of her Golden Circle Sunday School Class, the Women of Faith Widows Group, and the Young at Heart Seniors Group.  She was a long time leader of the Girls Auxiliary and is proud of all the girls she influenced.


 Surviving are her children, Larry Eugene Grant of Pickens, Linda  Grant (Michael) Shaw of Liberty and Anita  Grant (Tom) Murphy of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Allison Shaw (Curtis) McDowell and Andrew Michael Shaw;  sister, Edith  "Susie" (Len) Sisson of Knoxville, TN; three brothers, Gerald (JoAnn)Owen and Claxton (Pat)Owen both of Rosman, NC and Daniel (Helen) Owen of Penrose, NC.


In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, LaVola Smith and Virginia Tiedmann; and two  brothers, Randall and Jay Lee Owen.


Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Jones Avenue Baptist Church with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.


The family will receive friends Monday, November 23, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Jones Avenue Baptist Church, 614 Ross Avenue, Easley, SC  29640.


The family will be at her home, 111 Edgewood Avenue.
