Laverne Bottoms Hunley, 83, beloved wife of the late Richard Warren “Dick” Hunley, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 25, 2026.

Born in Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late Styles and Elnora Tollison Bottoms.

Mrs. Hunley was a registered nurse and ultimate caregiver. She served as Director of Nursing at several nursing homes and later retired from Prisma Easley Baptist Hospital. She loved arts and crafts and was an excellent seamstress who made beautiful quilts. She was also a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.

Surviving are her children, MeChelle Hunley Fulbright (Paul) of Williamston; Richard Warren Hunley, Jr. (Julie) of Easley; and James Michael Hunley (Wendi) of Windemere, FL; grandchildren, Wil Fulbright, Wes Fulbright (Gabby), Wyatt Fulbright (Victoria), Brooke Johns (Will), Wren Hunley (Ella), Austin Allison (Holly), Kyle Allison (Jessie), Alenna Hunley, and Darbi Hunley; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Randall “Randy” Bottoms.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 3, 2026, in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
