Lawrence Stephen Carter, 79, of 107 Pickens Drive, husband of the late Eddie Ann Bryson Carter, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017.

Born in Elkin, NC, he was a son of the late James Franklin Carter and Grace Couch Carter.

Mr. Carter was retired from the Aviation Industry. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force, as a Flight Engineer, during the Vietnam War. He loved NASCAR Racing and was a member of the Donaldson Center V.F.W. Post 9273, and the Loyal Order of The Moose, Lodge 749.

Surviving are his children, Lawrence Stephen "Steve" Carter, Jr. (Sharon) of Easley, Tony Clay Carter of Baltimore. MD and Patricia Ann Rigaux (Bobby) of Eden, GA; grandchildren, Pete Carter, Travis Bryson, and Eric Rigaux; great grandchildren, Asher, August, Colt and Annella; and a brother, Dale Carter of Vass, NC.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by brothers, Grover and Jerry Carter.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday May 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Elkin, NC.
