Lawrence King Wildin, 80, of 146 Oak Point, passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Millville, NJ, a son of the late Wesley C. Wildin, Sr., and the late Charlotte Cassidy Wildin, Mr. Wildin retired from the US Air Force after twenty-two years, served in the National Guard for four years where he served in Vietnam. He later retired from Michelin North America, after which he drove a special needs school bus for Anderson County. Mr. Wildin was Past Master of the Slab Town Masonic #233 and belonged to the Scottish Rite Shrine. He also did volunteer work for Michelin and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Miriam Garbett Wildin of the home; two sons, Larry Wildin (Rita) of Liberty, and Kenneth Wildin (Iris) of Lowndesville; two daughters, Charlotte Dillon of Pelzer and Carolyn Cox (Matt) of Anderson; a brother, Robert J. Wildin of Powdersville; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wildin was predeceased by a brother, Wesley C. Wildin, Jr.
Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 21, 2011 in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at their residence immediately following the service.
