Lela R. Kellett

Lela R. Kellett, 82, of Highway 183, took her flight from this world into her eternal home with Jesus on Sunday, March 4, 2007, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late, Thomas Furman and Etta Mae Vickery Reid, Mrs. Kellett was a homemaker, and a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Ladies Sunday School Class.
She has lived in Powdersville for the past forty-six years and was well known for her beautiful flower gardens and her love for day lilies. Mrs. Kellett was instrumental in getting the Upstate Day Lily Club organized and was also an active member of the Powdersville Garden Club.
Surviving are her husband of sixty-two years, C.P. "Pete" Kellett of the home, a daughter, Connie Spoon and her husband, David, of Piedmont; two brothers, Roy Reid and David Reid, both of Greenville; two sisters, Lou King, of Piedmont, and Kathleen LaBoone, of Greenville; five granddaughters, Stacy, Brittany, Angela, Tiffany and Misty; a grandson, Jonathan; two great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons. In addition to her parents Mrs. Kellett was predeceased by a son, Johnny Kellett; three brothers, Lelon, Joe Bill, and James Reid; and by a sister, Frances Fojtik.
Funeral services will be noon Wednesday at Bethesda United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Cy Rogers and Rev. Mike Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road, Easley, and will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday where the family will receive friends from 10:45 until 11:45 a.m., prior to the service.
