Leland James Porter, 73, of Jameson Road, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020.
Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late William Earle Porter and Lizzie Durham Porter.
Mr. Porter worked for Libco Mill in Liberty for 26 years and later retired from Easley Baptist Hospital Security. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time plowing with his horses and mules. Also, he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, in the US Army.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Blackston Porter; a brother, Troy Porter and wife, Sara, of Central; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters, Allene Porter Surrett, Catherine Hughes Roberts and Reubenia Porter Smith.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Monday, December 28, 2020 at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will meet with friends and family immediately following the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, Children's Home, 3931 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC 29611 or tabernaclechildrenshome.org
