Henry "Leon" Brewer, 84, of 403 Prince Perry Road, husband of the late Barbara Gilstrap Brewer, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at the McCall Hospice House.

Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Henry A. and Elizabeth Rose Brewer, Mr. Brewer retired from the Judson Plant of Milliken Corporation and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church where he belonged to the Sunshine Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the US Navy.

Surviving are a son, Rick Brewer and fiancee, Donna Davis, of Easley; a brother, Frank Brewer of Florida; a sister, Ruth Griffith of Jacksonville, FL; a daughter-in-law, Carol Brewer Wyant and husband, Gregg, of Charlotte; four grandsons, Christopher and Whitney Brewer, Ryan and Amy Brewer, Carter Brewer and Logan and Kelley Wyant and a special friend, Elizabeth Dickard of Easley. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Brewer was predeceased by a son, Dennis Brewer and by several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. David Gallamore officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday and will be placed in the church at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

The family is at the residence.
