Leon Burgess

Narl "Leon" Burgess, 80, of 607 Summit Drive, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011, at Hospice of the Upstate.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Leonard and Mary Redding Burgess, Mr. Burgess was a graduate of Dacusville High School and retired from Milliken Corp. and Tri County Technical College. He was a member of Jones Avenue Baptist Church where he belonged to the Auditorium Sunday School Class.
Surviving are his wife, Sue Bagwell Burgess of the home; children, Barbara Wood-Allen of Inman, Michael (Charlotte) Burgess of Easley, and Tim (April) Burgess of Liberty; brother L.C. (Louise) Burgess of Easley; grandchildren, Scott Camp, Travis Burgess, Dori Wood, Tyler Burgess and Parker Burgess; great-grandchildren, Seth Camp and McKenzie Burgess. In addition to his parents, Mr. Burgess was predeceased by a brother, Roy Burgess.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Dr. Roger Couch, Rev. Willie Honea and Rev. Dr. Rick Lee officiating. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
