James Leon Chandler, 75, of 177 Don Perry Road, husband of the late Mary Louise Couch Chandler, passed away Monday, November 29, 2010, at his home.
Born in Pickens County, on December 18, 1934, he was a son of the late Cabell Chandler and the late Lessie Harrison Chandler. Mr. Chandler retired from Woodside Mill and was former owner of Chandler Shell Station. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are three sons, Roger Chandler (Johnette) of Cateechee, James Chandler (Micky) of Six Mile and Robert Chandler of Central; two daughters, Terri Perry (Donald) of Six Mile, and Tammi Rampey (Richard) of Cateechee; brothers, Bobby Chandler (Freda) of Greenville, Larry Chandler (JoAnn) of Easley, Terry Chandler (Carolyn) of Easley, and Johnny Chandler (Patsy) of Easley; sisters, Judy Sheriff (Bob) of Easley, and Sherry Thrasher (Tommy) of Pickens; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. In
addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Summer Hammonds; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Corrine Chandler, and a granddaughter, Brandy Perry.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 1, 2010 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Boyce Whitman and Rev. Albert Couch, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 12:30 until 2:00 PM Wednesdayat the funeral home prior to the service.
