Mrs. Leona Maxine Murrell Moore, 89, wife of the late Boyd Franklin Moore, Jr., passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Moore was born in the Clinch Mountain/Pumpkin Valley Community of TN, a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Gonce Murrell. After raising four children, Leona returned to school in her 40's and earned an RN Degree from Greenville Technical College. She retired from Greenville Hospital System as Medical Program Director. Mrs. Moore was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are four children, Donald B. Moore (Jackie) of Belton, Sandra Moore of Easley, Lynn Moore Clement (Frank G.) of Nashville, TN, and Mark S. Moore (Trudi) of Swansea, SC; two brothers, Willard and Joe Murrell, both of Greenville County; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Durham, Susan Finley, Emily Harper, Meg Galipeau, Katie Kehler, Grant Kehler, Ryan Moore and Natalie Moore; and numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Moore was predeceased by a sister, Doris Murrell Cooley.

Private graveside services will be held at Robinson Memorial Gardens, Easley, SC.

Family members are at their respective homes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Anderson County Humane Society, 407 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC 29625.
