Reverend Leonard Perry Catron, 95, widower of Rena Flasch Catron, died Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Brookdale Easley.
Born in Albany, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Perry and Clara Guffey Catron.
Rev. Catron started his ministry in Florida before moving to the SC District of the Wesleyan Church. His ministry spanned over 50 years and included Walhalla, Golden Grove, Williamston, Woodside Avenue, Whitmire and Mt. Calvary Wesleyan Churches. He was a US Army veteran of WWII having participated in the Northern France and the Rhineland Campaigns and was a Purple Heart Recepient. He was a member of Golden Grove Wesleyan Church.
Surviving are sons, Jonathan P. Catron (Sandra) of Liberty, James M. Catron (Pamela) of Okeechobee, FL, and Timothy G. Catron (Tammy) of Anderson; sisters, Evelyn Orr and Roena Cristwell both of New Castle, Indiana; grandchildren, Rebecca, David, DeAnna, Alicia, Christopher, Joshua, Nathaniel, and Jeremy; and great grandchildren, Billy, Brian, Tyler, Hayden, Jacob, Jozlyn, Michael, Sarah, Barbara, Rena, and Charlotte.
In addition to his wife and parents, Rev. Catron was predeceased by a sister, Delia Pearl Hall.
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Wednesday at Golden Grove Wesleyan Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 PM, Tuesday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central.
The family is at the home of the son, Jonathan Catron, Liberty.
