Mary Leota Masters Smith, 89, formerly of 824 Robert P. Jeanes Road and widow of Bolt William Smith, died Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the McCall Hospice House, Simpsonville.
Born at Table Rock, Pickens County, a daughter of the late John Demus and Lougena Henson Masters, she was a retired employee with Alice Manufacturing.
She was a life-long member of Cedar Rock Baptist Church where she was a member of the Melissa Williams Sunday School Class, the Young In Heart Club and formerly a choir member.
Surviving are two sons, Benjamin Kenneth Smith of Easley and Tony Masters Smith and wife, Brenda, of Charleston; two daughters, Carol and her husband, Don C. Garrison, Debbie and her husband, Rex C. Barnes, Sr. all of Easley; one sister, Pearl Jennings of Easley; six grandchildren, Donnie Garrison, Rex C. Barnes, Jr., Allison B. Schubert, Melinda S. Bortz, Tonya S. Biondi and Tara S. Wells; two step-grandchildren, Benny Powell and Michelle Powell of Kernersville, NC; fourteen great-grandchildren, Laura, Kaile, Mindy, Tiffany, Colton, Hunter, Madison, Eli, Grace, Bolt, Bryant, Ashlyn, Alexis and Abigail; two great-great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Selene; and a daughter of choice, Patsy Hampton Nabors.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Smith was predeceased by four brothers, Clyde Masters, R.J. Masters, Leonard Masters and Woodrow Masters; and two sisters, Lola Nalley and Nancy Wade.
Funeral services will be 3 PM, Sunday at Cedar Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Bobby Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, Saturday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
The family is at the home of Don and Carol Garrison, 320 Bella Vista Drive, Easley, SC 29640.
