Rev. Leroy Connor Cox, 88, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Lila Doyle Nursing Facility.

Rev. Cox was born in Tabor City, NC, a son of the late Daniel and Addie Gore Cox. He was a graduate of Central Wesleyan College now Southern Wesleyan University, served as a minister for over fifty years including High Pine Wesleyan Church, Asheboro, NC, Asheboro First Wesleyan Church, Belmont Wesleyan Church in Belmont, NC, Clyde Wesleyan Church, Clyde, NC, East Gold Street Wesleyan Church in Kings Mountain, NC, North Kannapolis Wesleyan Church in Kannapolis, NC, Rock Hill Wesleyan Church in Rock Hill, SC.

Surviving are his wife of sixty seven years, Loma Voyles Cox of Central; two sons, Virgil C. Cox of Kings Mountain, NC and Dr. Thomas L Cox and his wife, Lori of Virginia Beach, VA; two daughters, Blanche Ray and her husband, Jackie and Ruth Atcheson and her husband, Marty all of Central; one sister, Lorene Prince of Tabor City, NC; six grandchildren Dr. Brian Ray (Shannon) of Boiling Springs, SC, Jason Ray (Sabrina) of Westminster, SC, Dr. Joshua Ray (Rhonda) of Greenville, Dr. John Atcheson (Renee) of Six Mile, SC, Dr. Joe Atcheson (Elizabeth) of Central and Caroline Cox of Virginia Beach, VA.

Funeral services will be Sunday, May 24, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Wesleyan Church, with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
