Lester Colon "Les" Addis, 79, of 303 Redspire Drive, died Thursday, April 22, 2010, at the McCall Hospice House.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Bertie Bryant Addis, Mr. Addis retired from Plus, Inc., and was a member of Trinity Presbyteran Church in Travelers Rest. He was a veteran of the US Army.
Surviving are his wife, Esther Griffith Addis of the home; three sons, Tim Addis of Fayetteville, NC, Gregory Marchbanks of Dublin, GA, and Scott Marchbanks of Statesboro, GA; two daughters, Joy Suddeth and husband, Scott, of Easley, and Susan Culbertson and husband, Lloyd, of Greenville; ten grandchildren, Britney Suddeth, Alex Suddeth, Zack Addis, Brooks Addis, Leslie Culbertson, Kacy Culbertson, Jason Marchbanks, Tommy Marchbanks, Lisa Marchbanks and Connie Marchbanks. In addition to his parents, Mr. Addis was predeceased by his first wife, Miriam Painter Addis, by a son, Phillip Addis, and by a sister, Lucia Mae Cobb.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mark Mason officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Springs Baptist Church cemetery, Easley S.C.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday and will be placed in the church at noon Saturday.
