 Lewis Eugene “Gene” Young, 93, of Brushy Creek Road, beloved husband of Patricia Reeves Young, passed away Friday, November 8, 2024.

 Born in Abbeville, SC he was a son of the late Grady and Dora Temple Young. 

 Mr. Young retired from Swirl Manufacturing as a computer programmer and manager. Following retirement, he owned and operated Upstate Scooters in Easley. He was a member of Easley Presbyterian Church for 55 years. He was also a Mason, Shriner, and a member of the Easley Moose Lodge. He proudly served his country as a United States Air Force drill instructor for 4 years. He enjoyed watching his sons play ball, bird hunting, building cars, and spending time with his grandchildren. 

 In addition to his wife of 68 years, Pat, he is survived by his sons, Warren Young (Nicole) of Greenville, Tony Young of Piedmont and Jeff Young (Amanda Hood) of Liberty; grandchildren, Lauren Nicole Young, Leah Patricia Young (Amanda), Warren Nicolas Young (Chelsea), Courtney Elizabeth Sykes (Allie), and Summer Elaine Young.

 He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Conrad and Lowery Young; and his sisters, Anna Shealy and Dot Ferguson.

 A funeral service to celebrate Mr. Young’s life will be 12:00 PM Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Easley First Presbyterian Church, with a visitation immediately following in the church parlor. A private family entombment will be in The Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum at Robinson Memorial Gardens.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Easley Presbyterian Church at 200 S 1st St, Easley, SC 29640.
