Lila W. Mauldin
- Easley

Lila Mae Wade Mauldin died peacefully at 6:15am November 23, 2011.
She was born in 1921 to Bertha Allen Wade and Thomas O??Duffas Wade in Pickens, South Carolina. Lila Mae was the eldest of six children. The family lived on Pope Field Road, Easley, South Carolina. She is survived by her brothers Roy and Jerry Wade.

In her youth she attended Easley High School, later worked at Alice Manufacturing.
As World War II approached, she worked in a Baltimore, Maryland war plant attaching propellers to fighter planes.

In 1945, Lila Mae Wade married Homer Newton Mauldin. They raised a family and enjoyed their lives together for 60 years until death separated them in 2005. They are survived by their two daughters and sons-in-law: Jonathan & Dixie Mauldin Walker and Arless & Patsy Mauldin Day; their two grandchildren and spouses: Arlon & Kimberly Day and Scott & Christina Walker Dreier; and their great-grandchildren: Madison Bailey Day, Emily Jenna Dreier and Peyton Avery Day.

Throughout Mrs. Mauldin??s life, she was devoted to her church and to the development of the youth. At Park Street Baptist Church, she was the youth leader for some time and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. She was director for the local Baptist Girls?? Auxiliary and then served as the regional director for several years.

With her love of children and her talents as a business woman she created Loving Care Day Center. In this way she positively affected the lives of hundreds of children. Many of which continued to contact her into her later years.

Lila Mauldin was blessed with many talents. She was creative in designing a complete wardrobe and making it from scratch. She could draw, do needle work, make lace and visualize any project without instructions or patterns. She was very artistic.

In their retirement, the Mauldins enjoyed traveling and spending time with their children.

Lila Mae Mauldin was loved by all she met because of her loving, giving and caring manner. She was a wonderful mother who we will appreciate and treasure forever.
