Lila Evangeline Wright Smith, 74, wife of Chester Franklin Smith, Jr., passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013 at her home.

Born in Easley, to the late V.A. and Ola Mae Bagwell Wright, Lila graduated from Pickens High School in 1956 with honors and was a member of the Beta Club. She went on to study at Holmes Bible College for two years before she took a secretarial job at Sun Heating Supplies in Greenville, where she worked for twenty-four years. Mrs. Smith was known to be a very active person who enjoyed sewing, playing piano and working at her computer, but most of all, she was a loving mother and grandmother.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, of forty-nine years, are a son, Lin Smith (Michelle); two grandchildren, Bailey and Ryan Gambrell; and a Special Aunt, Janie Bagwell.

Funeral services will be 2:30 P.M. Saturday, April 20, 2013 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, in Pickens.

Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 2:15 P.M. Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of VistaCare Hospice for the loving care they gave to Mrs. Smith.
