LINDA D. BARLAGE - Seneca

Linda B. Barlage, 66, wife of William B. Barlage, Jr., died Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Trinity, N.C. and was the daughter of the late Robinson Mack and Mamie VonCannon Douglas.

Linda graduated from Furman University in 1961 with a degree in piano. She taught piano privately for 33 years and was the senior choir director/organist at Central First Wesleyan Church for 45 years. She was also involved in a variety of music organizations in the Clemson/Seneca area including the Clemson Music Club, the Clemson Chorale, the Electric City Playhouse and the Oconee Community Theater. In addition she was active in the Clemson Area Christian Women's Club and was also a speaker in the southeastern area. She published a book, Legacy of Joy, in 2000 and in 2003 she provided arrangement and musical accompaniment for a CD, Songs of Hope.

In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter: Sheryl B. Pelligrino and her husband Robert of Easley; a son: William B. Barlage, III, and his wife Judie of Easley; brother: Jerry Mack Douglas and his wife Bettye of Norfolk, VA and 5 grandchildren: Robert, Jr., Bethany and Lydia Pelligrino and Lauren and Rebecca Barlage.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3:00pm at Central First Wesleyan Church with burial to follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Central. The family will receive friends Tuesday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Organ Fund of Central First Wesleyan Church, PO Box 1020, Central, SC 29630.
