Linda Jean Shields Cawthon, 63, wife of Ned Vance "Van" Cawthon, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at her home.
Born in Greenville, a daughter of the late James Shields and the late Helen Shields, she was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed playing tennis, vacationing, going on cruises, and shag dancing. She was a Cost Accountant for many years at Fluor Daniel and Michelin until she opened up her own business, the Silver Link Jewelry that was in the Haywood Mall in Greenville. Linda was a member at New Spring Church in Powdersville.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, is the light of her life, her son, Kevin Vance Cawthon of Memphis, TN; her mother-in-law, Martha Helen Cawthon of Anderson; a sister-in-law, Karen Cawthon Halmo of Denver, NC; and nieces, Laura Halmo (Dan Behrens) of New Jersey and Dr. Stephanie Marie Halmo (Charles Hunter "Hunt" Gentry) of Athens, GA.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Paul Halmo.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2021 at the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road.
