Linda Diane Collier

October 19, 1951 — November 17, 2021

Linda "Diane" Collier, 70, passed away on November 17, 2021 at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca, SC, after a hard fought 13 year battle with brain cancer.

Originally from Danielsville, GA, Diane lived most of her life in the Upstate of SC. She retired after 28 years as a Registered Nurse at Redfern Health Center for Clemson University in 2003.

Diane's passion for life was contagious. She lived fearlessly, loved fully and gave unconditionally, never stopping until everyone around her was taken care of. Her body and mind became broken in sickness, but her spirit and faith remained strong. She cherished her family, loved her friends, playing golf, going on cruises and was obsessed with anything sports related. She loved her Clemson Tigers. Above all, she loved her Lord.

She is survived by husband John of the home, daughters Amy (Chris) Garrison and Leigh (Cain) Stinnett, grandchildren Austin, Aidan, Hunter, Connor, and Peyton, mom Hester (Ed) Fechtel, brother Lamar (Linda) Fortson and sister Nancy Reynolds. She was predeceased by her father Coyle Fortson and sister Mary Crowe.

Due to ongoing Covid concerns, the family will be holding a celebration of life for Diane at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you support the Cottingham House/Prisma Health Hospice of the Foothills with donations in her honor. The care they gave Diane in her final hours was incredible and we are forever grateful that they helped her pass so peacefully. Checks payable to: Oconee Memorial Hospital Foundation, Cottingham House, 298 Memorial Dr., Seneca, SC 29672, 864-885-7912.
