Linda Carol Sheppard Gilmer, 61, of 2962 Dacusville Highway and wife of Paul L. "Len" Gilmer, went to be with the Lord Monday May 12, 2014 at Rainey Hospice House.
Mrs. Gilmer was born in Woodruff, SC, the daughter of John Holland and Dorothy Mae Pittman Sheppard of Easley, SC. She was a homemaker and a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church where she was active for many years in the children's nursery.
Surviving in addition to her parents and husband are sons, Jonathan Paul Gilmer of Easley, SC and J.R. Lyda of Laurens, SC; daughters, Bethany Cassell (Justin), of Easley, SC and Lynn Lyda, of Lyman, SC and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday at Cross Roads Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until 1:45 pm Thursday, prior to the service, at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Children's Ministry at Cross Roads Baptist Church, 160 Cross Roads Church Road, Easley, SC 29640.
