Linda McAlister Lyday, 61, of 126 Sweet Bud Court, went home to be with the Lord, April 14, 2009.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of Grace Medlin Goss and the late Carl McAlister. She was loved by all who knew her, was a homemaker, loved to sing Gospel Music and attended church.
She leaves behind her husband of 44 years, J.C. Lyday; one daughter, Mary Ann Marchbanks; two sons, Allen Lyday and Michael Lyday; two brothers, Randy and Tim McAlister; sisters, Carolyn Hill, Elaine Perry, Ann Ryan, Tammy Gilliland, Darlene Taylor and Loretta Goss; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; her best friend, Barbara Jean Sanders; nieces and nephews; and two care-givers, Wanda Medlin and Desirae Burkhalter.
In addition to her father, she was predeceased by a daughter, Melissa Lynn Lyday; a brother, Don McAlister; step-father, Lester Goss; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Friday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, with Revs. John Brown and Jeff Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 PM, Thursday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
