Linda Shirley Shaw

Easley, SC - Linda Shaw, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on October 2, 2023, at the age of 81. Linda was born on July 30, 1942, in Greenville, South Carolina to proud parents Dwight and Nell (Brown) Shirley.

Linda was a loving and welcoming soul who touched the lives of everyone she met. Her compassionate nature brought warmth to the hearts of her family and friends. She will be remembered not only for her kindness but also for her incredible cooking skills. Linda had a passion for cooking and baking, with chicken cordon bleu being her speciality. Her delicious meals created cherished memories shared around the family table.

In addition to her culinary talents, Linda was known for her skillful quilting. From quilts to pocketbooks, she poured her heart into creating intricate and beautiful pieces that showcased her creativity. Linda's love for quilting carried over into her travels with her husband of 63 years, Melvin Shaw. Together they explored many different places, but Gatlinburg, Tennessee held a special place in their hearts.

Linda's educational journey began as Homecoming Queen at Carolina High School. Her reign as queen was a testament to her charisma and charm that captured the hearts of those around her. After high school graduation, Linda pursued a career in Human Resources at St. Francis Hospital for five years. Her dedication to helping others shone through in this role.

A woman of strong familial bonds, Linda treasured time spent with her loved ones. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever be held dear by all those fortunate enough to have known her. Linda is survived by her devoted husband Melvin Shaw; loving children Dana Shaw Bryant and Melanie Shaw Longtin; beloved sister Ann Skelnik and brother Bill Shirley; adored grandchildren Brandon Foister, Sarah Bryant, Nathan Bryant, Jonathan Bryant, Rachael Bowman, Samuel Bryant, Leah Longtin; and her eight great-grandchildren.

Linda's memory will be honored during a Graveside Service at 2:00 PM on October 6, 2023, at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road located at 1425 Powdersville Road in Easley, SC. A place where friends and family can come together to celebrate her remarkable life and bid their final goodbyes.

Linda Shaw's departure from this world leaves a void that cannot be filled. However, her spirit will forever reside in the hearts of all those she touched. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire us all. May she rest in eternal peace.
