Linda Oxendine Winemiller, 75, of Easley, South Carolina, wife of the late Kenneth Raymond Winemiller, Jr. passed away on Saturday, October 5. 2024.
Born in Sumter, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Wade and Dorothy Oxendine.
Linda was a graduate of Sumter Technical College, where she completed her studies with dedication. She went on to retire from Jackson Lewis Law Firm after an accomplished career as a Legal Assistant, where she worked for over forty years. Her knowledge, expertise, and precise legal writing made her an invaluable asset to the attorneys she supported. Her colleagues often relied on her vast experience and keen insights.
Linda was a devoted member of Easley Presbyterian Church, where her faith and service were hallmarks of her life. She was actively involved in the F.R.O.G. Circle (Forever Relying on God), helped care for the nursery, assisted with the Communion Guild, and was a member of the Congregational Care Committee. Her faith guided her daily life and her service to others.
Outside of her professional and church life, Linda had many passions. She loved reading, online shopping, exercising, Connect the Dots, Hot Sox, and gardening. She was also known for her delicious baking and her joy of dining at Chili’s. Linda loved college football and was an avid Florida State fan, which allowed her to attend games annually with her son.
Those who knew Linda described her as respectful, soft-spoken, and detail-oriented. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a kind, nurturing spirit. Though she was modest about her career, her success and dedication to her work were undeniable. Her caring, generous nature and deep gratitude for life’s blessings touched everyone she met. In her final days, her love for her family shone through, a reflection of her lifelong devotion to those closest to her.
Linda is survived by her son, Kenneth R. Winemiller, III, of Simpsonville, South Carolina; a brother, Jacob Lamont Oxendine (Vicki); a nephew, Joshua Thomas Oxendine (Alisha); and a niece, Elizabeth Marie Schmidt (Kevin).
