Lloyd Dale Short, 71, of 1319 Norris Highway, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at the Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.
Born in Upperglade, WV, he was a son of the late Earl Ray and Thelma Grace Woods Short. He was a Veteran of the US Army and was a welder for Industrial Services. He was a member of World Wide Church of God. Mr. Short was a craftsman and loved building things, especially birdhouses and he loved bluegrass music. He made aluminum Dobros
Surviving are his wife, Ada Jane Holcomb Short of the home; a son, Luke Ryan Short and Missy of Central; a daughter, Lisa Riddley and husband Brian of Easley; a brother, Bud Short of Pickens; a sister, Juanita Montgomery of Maryland; and six grandchildren, Taylor Short, Alaina Riddley, Aidan Riddley, Wyatt Short, Tyler Short, and Tristen Short.
A graveside service will be 11 AM Saturday at Norris Cemetery with Reverend Robert Lowe officiating.
The family is at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Foothills; 390 Keowee School Road; Seneca, SC 29672.
