Lois Durham

Lois Powers Durham, 91, formerly of Pickens, wife of the late Thomas J. "T.J." Durham, went to be with her Heavenly Father, Sunday, November 18, 2007, at Magnolia Place of Greenville.
Born in Atlanta, the daughter of the late Bennett H. and Nannie Porter Powers, and a lifelong resident of Pickens, Mrs. Durham retired from Ryobi after many years of faithful service. She was a member of Secona Baptist Church where she enjoyed being a church hostess.
Affectionately known by her family as LaLa, She loved cooking and caring for her family and friends, and she sincerely enjoyed putting in a good days work. LaLa was truly a great lady who will be remembered for her beautiful heart and kind spirit. She leaves this world a better place because she was in it.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Hardin and husband, David, of Cleveland and Carolyn Gillespie and husband, Joel, of Easley; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Powers of Greensboro, NC, and Tommy Powers of Houston, TX. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Durham was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Jackson Powers.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the mausoleum of Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Lerlin Dow officiating.
