Lois Sheridan Ellis, 88, of 162 Golden Eagle Drive and wife of Dr. Malcolm Ellis, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at her home.

Born in Allendale, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Fannie Stevens Sheridan. Dr. Ellis was a retired professor emeritus of Nursing Education at Indiana Wesleyan University where she taught for 23 years. She served as a missionary for 17 years in The Sierra Leone Wesleyan Church.

She graduated from Michigan State University, Indiana Wesleyan University, University of Michigan and Ball State University. She practiced as a Nurse Anesthetist in Indiana. She also served for many years along with her husband in pastorates in IN, KS and SC. She also served as Womens Missionary President at the Trinity Wesleyan Church in Central, SC where she was a devoted member.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Mrs. Deborah J Perkins (Russell) of Pickens, SC and Dr. David M. Ellis of Champaign, IL; four grandchildren, Graham and Taylor Ellis of Champaign, IL; Tessa Ellis and Javan Perkins of Pickens, SC; a brother, Dr. Alton Sheridan of Grand Rapids, MI; a sister, Sharon Conely of Grand Rapids, MI; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 PM, Saturday at Trinity Wesleyan Church in Central,SC with entombment to follow in Memory Gardens, Clemson, SC.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 PM, Saturday, prior to the service at the church.

The family is at the home of Russell and Deborah Perkins, 162 Golden Eagle Drive, Pickens, SC 29671.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Malcolm & Lois Ellis Scholarship Fund, Southern Wesleyan University, 907 Wesleyan Dr., Central, SC 29630.
