Lois M. Jakovich, age 88, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026, in Clemson, South Carolina. She was born on October 26, 1937, in Platteville, Wisconsin, to Marcella Williams and Dawson I. Williams.
Lois graduated from Platteville High School in 1955 and from the University of Dubuque in 1959. She dedicated more than 30 years to education in Illinois, serving as a teacher, Dean of Students, and Head of the Math Department at TF South High School in Lansing, Illinois.
Lois is survived by her brother, Charles V. Williams, and his wife, Patricia; her stepdaughter, Melinda Jakovich-Lagrange; her devoted friend, Macy Wolf; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marko Jakovich, who passed away in November 2000; her sisters, Elizabeth Ann Williams and Wanda Mae Flesch; and her brothers, Pete and Jerry Williams as well as her beloved nephew Phillip L. Williams.
She will be remembered for her devotion to her students, her commitment to learning, and the care she gave to those around her. Her life and work touched many people, and her memory will remain a blessing to her family, friends, former students, and colleagues.
Funeral Arrangements are being handled by Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central, South Carolina. A visitation will be held on July 31, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Central. Following the visitation, Lois will be cremated for internment with her husband, Marko, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
