Lois Stewart Smith, 81, of Easley, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013 at her home.

Born in Pickens County, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Rev. James Edward Stewart and Lola Watt Stewart. She was a Methodist, and she retired from the Dunean Plant of J.P. Stevens after more than forty years of service.

Surviving are a son, Craig Smith of Easley; a daughter, Joan Crick (Wayne) of Mauldin; a sister, Marjorie S. Hendricks of Pickens; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her husband, Robert Manuel Smith; a son, Bobby Smith; three brothers; and two sisters.

She was devoted to her family, and her favorite pastime was working in her yard.

Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:15 PM Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family expresses its gratitude to her caregiver Tami, and also the entire staff of Open Arms Hospice where memorials may be made at 1836 W. Georgia Rd., Simpsonville, SC 29680.
