Lois Freeman Southern, 85, of Hamlin Rd., passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 at her home.

Born October 27, 1928 in Pisgah, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Mazie Sewell Freeman. Ms. Southern retired from Estes Cotton Mill in 1994 and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.

She is survived by her grandsons, Mitch Thompson (Lisa) and Michael Thompson (Crystal); brothers, Charles Freeman and Rick Freeman, sister, Margaret Curry; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Bill Southern, daughter, Wanda Thompson, granddaughter, Christy Thompson, three brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 PM Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:15 PM Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
