Lois Evangeline Newton White, 78, of 311 Simpson Road Apt. C4, Anderson, formerly of Clemson, died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at AnMed Health Center in Anderson.

Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late John Wesley and Lola Hattie Kelley Newton. She was retired from the Pickens County School System after 30 years, where she worked as a Manager of the Morrison Annex Lunchroom. Mrs. White was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church, and was active in various church activities. She had a love for gardening and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Surviving are her husband, William Thurmond White of the home; a son, William Larry White and his wife Rebecca of Silver Springs, MD; a daughter, Sharon Evangeline Thompson and her husband Gary of Grove City, PA; two brothers, Claude W. Newton of Anderson, John H. Newton of Anderson; two sisters, Mildred Williamson of Seneca, Sarah James of Mauldin; four grandchildren, Bradley White and his wife Tristan, Elizabeth West and her husband Jeff, Ariana Thompson, Daric Thompson; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Morris Newton, Raymond Newton, and Gene Newton.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be prior to the service on Saturday from 10 AM until 11 AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Wesleyan Church; 700 Issaqueena Trail; Central, SC 29630.
