On July 21, 2015, Lola Head Hawkins, age 89, wife of the late James Harold Hawkins, who lived on Head's Lake Road in Central, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she has served for more than fifty years.
Mrs. Hawkins was the daughter of the late John Arthur and Kansie Whitmire Head. She retired from D. W. Daniel High School in Central after over thirty years teaching.
Mrs. Hawkins is survived by five daughters: Hellen (Arthur) Reeves of Fountain Inn, Margaret Hawkins of Central, Joanne (Don) Carter of Spartanburg, Faye (Joe) Johnson of Evans, GA, and Barbara (Bill) McMahon of Denver, NC; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Doris(Roger) Riggins, and two brothers, John (Imogene) Head and Charles (Ellen) Head all of Central.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one grandson, two sisters, and three brothers.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, July 23, 2015, in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until 12:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
