Loma "Dutch" Voyles Cox, 92, widow of Rev. Leroy Connor Cox, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Lila Doyle Nursing Facility in Seneca.
Born in Central, she was a daughter of the late Thomas T. and Ollie Cothran Voyles. Loma was a graduate of Central High School and along with being a homemaker was a loyal and active wife of a Wesleyan pastor. Her family was charter members of Second Wesleyan Church which is now Trinity Wesleyan Church.
Surviving are sons, Virgil C. Cox of Kings Mountain, NC and Dr. Thomas Cox (Lori) of Virginia Beach, VA; daughters, Blanche Ray (Rev. Jackie) and Ruth Atcheson (Marty) all of Central; grandchildren, Dr. Brian Ray (Shannon), Jason Ray (Sabrina), Dr. Josh Ray (Rhonda), Dr. John Atcheson (Renee), Dr. Joe Atcheson (Elizabeth), Caroline Cox and Jacob Cox; and 15 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Felix T. Voyles; and sisters, Martha Craig, Margaret Herron and Lena Abercrombie.
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Trinity Wesleyan Church with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 AM on Saturday prior to the service at the church.
