Lonnie Robert "Bob" Collins, Jr.

Lonnie Robert Collins, Jr., 82, husband of Kathy Hensley Collins, passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease on Friday, September 23, 2022.

Born in Greenville, a son of the late Lonnie Robert Collins, Sr. and the late Ruby Chamblee Collins, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved racing, classic cars, riding his tractor, walking, and spending time with his family. He proudly served his country in the US Army and retired as a railroad engineer from Norfolk Southern after thirty-five years of service. He was a member of Nine Forks Baptist Church in Easley.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons, Stoney Collins (Jennifer) of Easley and Ty Collins (Katrina) of Jacksonville, FL; and grandchildren, Sean Collins, Erin Collins, Cade Collins, Ally Collins, Gloria Collins, and Whitney Collins.

He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Margie Wyatt.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Nine Forks Baptist Church, 3207 Earls Bridge Road, Easley, SC 29640. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. Tuesday at the church, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nine Forks Baptist Church, 3207 Earls Bridge Road, Easley, SC 29640. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
