Loring Bradford Cox

November 17, 1921 — February 27, 2016

Loring Bradford Cox, 94, husband of the late Claire Branit Cox passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Rainey Hospice House.


Mr. Cox was born in Chicago, IL, and was the son of the late, Leonard Burford and Constance Cheney Cox. He graduated from Purdue University with a B. S. in Electrical Engineering, and was formerly employed as a product engineer for Singer in Pickens and later with Shopsmith, Inc. He was a member of Easley First Baptist Church, the Coley Cleveland Sunday School Class, the sanctuary choir and served as a deacon.  Mr. Cox was a former member of the Easley Lions Club and served in India during WWII in the U. S. Army Air Corps.


Surviving are two sons, Brad Cox and his wife, Mary of Easton, KS and Will Cox and his wife, Anna Ruth of Montross, VA; two daughters, Cathy Scroggs and her husband, Stuart of Columbia, MO, and Ellen Smith and her husband Phil of Easley; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.


In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Cox, a grandson, Ryan Cox and a sister, Lee Chapman.


Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 2, 2016 in Robinson Memorial Gardens.


The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM prior to the service at Robinson Funeral Home, Powdersville Road.


Memorials may be made to Easley First Baptist Church, For Generations to Come, 300 East First Avenue, Easley, SC  29640.
