Lou Ellen Raines Gilstrap, 77, of 1055 Hester Store Road, affectionately known as "Nanny" went to be with her heavenly family Thursday, April 12, 2007. She was surrounded by love from her husband and family as Jesus carried her home.

Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Zion H. and Leatha McJunkin Raines, Mrs. Gilstrap retired from Singer Corporation and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where she belonged to the Nancy King Sunday School Class.

A quiet, loving wife and mother, she leaves behind her husband of sixty years, Charles W. Gilstrap of the home, a son, William H. Gilstrap and wife, Cindy, of Auburn, GA; two daughters, Kathy A. Nevins and husband, Ray, of Easley, and Linda L. Robinson and husband, Daryl of Liberty; a brother, Arthur L. Raines of Easley; three sisters, Aileen James, Frances Crowe and Annie Whitman, all of Easley; four grandchildren, Chris Robinson, Carrie Bagwell and her husband, Benji, James Gilstrap and his wife, Amanda, and Leslie Nevins; and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Bagwell. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gilstrap was predeceased by an infant daughter, Vickie Gilstrap.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Paul Turner, Rev. James Ellenburg and Rev. Bobby Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of Linda and Daryl Robinson, 549 Camp Ground Road, Liberty, SC 29657.
