Loucious Vernell Cobb

Loucious Vernell "Sonny" Cobb, 81, a loving and outgoing individual, departed from this world

on October 21, 2024.

Throughout his life, Sonny was known for his knack for buying and selling all sorts of goods. His

talents extended beyond commerce; he enjoyed fixing and tinkering with various items. He

loved to go to auctions and flea markets and amassed many friends through his years of selling.

He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Music was another significant

part of his life, and he loved playing instruments. He was never formally trained but could play

just about any instrument by ear. He loved sharing his love of music with friends and family. He

grew up attending various Church of God of Prophecy’s with his dad’s ministry but was

especially fond of East Clemson Christian Fellowship Church that his father established.

Sonny took great pride in his family, valuing the bonds and memories they created together. His

legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, as he made an unforgettable impact with

his warm spirit and generous nature.

Sonny is survived by his cherished wife of 59 years, Mary Lee Ladd Cobb; Sister, Avanelle

Pelfrey (Johnny); Sons, John Cobb (Michelle) and Joseph Cobb (Summer); Daughter, Lisa Ann

Wittner; Grandchildren, Kiara LeeAnn Cobb, CJ Vaughn (Talai), and Hannah Emberton

(Connor); 3 Great-Grandchildren; many cherished aunts, nieces and nephews and “other

daughter” Kay Smith Arnold.

Sonny is preceded in death by his parents Espie Vernell and Frances Elizabeth Cobb.

A visitation will be held on Thursday October 24, 2024 from 1:00-1:45 PM at East Clemson

Christian Fellowship. Funeral Service will follow visitation at 2 PM at the Church. Burial will

follow the service at Memory Gardens Cemetery of Clemson.
