Louise Tripp Hamilton, 83, formerly of 1309 Brushy Creek Road and more recently The Commons at the Willows, died Sunday, September 17, 2006, at the Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Anderson County, Mrs. Hamilton was a daughter of the late Iba Vilasco Tripp and the late Willie Mae Wyatt Tripp White. She graduated from Easley High School and attended Winthrop College. She began working at W.W. Robinson Co. in July 1943 and spent her entire career with the Robinson organization as secretary for Robinson Co. and Robinson Funeral Home. Mrs. Hamilton retired in September 1986 after forty-three years of service.

Mrs. Hamilton was a member of First Baptist Church, Easley, where she was a teacher in the preschool Sunday School Department for over thirty years. Having served on several committees of the church, Mrs. Hamilton was a trustee at one time and a member of the Philathea Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Hamilton taught china painting for fourteen years and received over eighty Blue Ribbons in competition for her work. She was engaged in many other hobbies, including ceramics, geneaology, and water color painting. Also she was a charter member and past president of Colonel John Robbins Chapter, Colonial Dames Seventeenth Century.

In 1994, Mrs. Hamilton was honored as first runner-up for the Citizen of the Year by the Easley Exchange Club. She was a member and past president of the Azalea Garden Club. For many years, she was a member of the Easley Business and Professional Women's Club and had also served as its president.

Surviving are one son, Donald Henry Hamilton and his wife, Judi, of Easley; two grandchildren, David Hamilton and Hope Meares and her husband, Darron; and one great-grandson, Jackson Meares. Mrs. Hamilton was predeceased by her husband, W. Henry Hamilton; and two brothers, J.W. and Harold Tripp.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Tuesday in the Chapel of Easley First Baptist Church with the Reverend Rick Baumgarner officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Escort of Honor will be the Philathea Sunday School Class.

The family will receive friends in the church narthex from 2:00-3:00 P.M. Tuesday prior to the service.

The family is at the home of Don and Judi Hamilton, 703 Shefwood Drive, Easley, S.C. 29642.
