Louise Brown Mixon, longtime resident of Clemson and wife of Robert F. Mixon, died Friday morning at Lila Doyle Nursing Care Facility in Seneca.

Born in Iva, SC she was a daughter of the late Ernest R. and Gertrude Moore Brown. She received an Associate Degree from Anderson College. Louise was retired from Clemson University where she served as a secretary in the Agronomy Department and later served as the Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Instruction in the College of Agricultural Sciences. She was an avid Clemson sports fan and along with her husband could be seen at most Clemson sporting events. She was a member of Fort Hill Presbyterian Church where she was a longtime Sunday School teacher, Youth Advisor, and a church office greeter.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Greg Mixon (Melanie) of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Eric Mixon, Brian Mixon and Kyle Mixon.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a brother, Ernest R. Brown; and a sister, Alita Robinson.

Funeral services will be 2:30 PM, Monday, February 10, 2014 at Fort Hill Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in Old Stone Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:20 PM, Monday, in Tartan Hall at the church, prior to the service.

The family is at the home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Fort Hill Presbyterian Church, 101 Edgewood Avenue, Clemson, SC 29631.
