Louise Payne Patterson (Crystal, Paynie), 85, of 1115 Crestview Road, died Sunday, February 24, 2008, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Charlotte, NC, Mrs. Patterson was the daughter of the late John Lewis and Louise Yates Payne. She attended Salem College, Davidson College and Piedmont Tech. Mrs. Patterson had a lifelong interest in pottery and crafts as well as in helping people who needed emotional support.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Yates Patterson of Warrenton, Oregon and John Andrews Patterson of West Lafayette, Indiana; one brother, John Lewis Payne, Jr. of Lexington, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Joseph Michael Patterson, Lauren Anne Patterson, and Daniel William Patterson; and two great-grandsons, Michael Ramsey Patterson and Douglas Gabriel Patterson.
Mrs. Patterson was predeceased by her husband, Edgar Franklin Patterson and a daughter, Anne Blackwell Patterson.
A celebration of her life will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Victoria Valley Vineyards, 1360 South Saluda Road; Cleveland, S.C. 29635; Telephone: (864) 878-5307. This facility is located on South Saluda Road one mile North of its intersection with Highway 11 near Aunt Sue's Restaurant. A reception for family and friends will follow the memorial service at the Victoria Valley Vineyards.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
