Loyd A. Guffee

Loyd Alfred Guffee, 91, the loving husband for 70 years of Minnie Glenn Guffee, died Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at AnMed Health.

Born in McAdenville, NC, he was the son of the late Henry Alvin and Bulah Potts Guffee. Mr. Guffee retired after over 30 years of service in Textile Research with the USDA at Clemson. He was a member for over 58 years of Pendleton United Methodist Church and was very active with the Methodist Men's Club of the church. He was a US Army veteran of WWII and a member of the American Legion Post in Pendleton.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Michael (Winni) Guffee of Greer, SC, Charles (Chris)Guffee of Winchester, VA and Russell (Diane)Guffee of Pendleton, SC; brother, Elmer Guffee of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Ashley (Chris) Howard, Michael (Colleen) Guffee, Katherine (Bryan) Ritter, Keri Beth (Jared) Mounts, Rhett Rives, Byron (Kayla) Guffee, Megan(Weber) Jacques; great grandchildren, Lexi Howard, Stone Howard, Carlyn Guffee, Lauren Guffee, Addison Ritter, Anna Ritter, Landon Ritter, Rollins Guffee, Asher Guffee, Hewitt Guffee, Oaklyn Jacques and Palmer Jacques.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a grandson, Jack Rives.

Funeral services will be 11 AM, Friday, July 28, 2017 at Pendleton United Methodist Church with Rev. Mel Arant officiating.
