Lucile Tinsley Sweat, 88, of 249 W. Halfway Branch Road, widow of N. Adolph Sweat, died Monday, August 1, 2016 at Morningside of Seneca.

Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Jeff D. and Leva Bracken Tinsley.  Lucile was a graduate of Summerville High School.  She was the proud wife of 66 years of her WWII veteran husband and loved people. She worked with special needs children at church and served the elderly, friends and family in any way needed.  She was a member of Open Door Baptist Church of Walhalla, SC.She was known for her instruction, correction, historical facts and passionate love of her Bracken heritage. She will be missed for her laughter and great stories.

Surviving are her son, James Wiley (Elaine) Sweat of Georgetown, SC; daughter, Katheryn S. Ross of Walhalla, SC; brothers, Edward Tinsley of Summerville, SC and Robert Tinsley of Denton, Texas; sister Pat Ehney of Newberry, SC; 5 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother James Donald Tinsley.

Funeral services will be 1 PM, Saturday at Open Door Baptist Church with entombment to follow in Oconee Memorial Park Mausoleum.
