Lula "Lou" Vaughn Hinton, 89, of 104 Lennox Lane, died Friday, July 03, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital.

Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Walter B. and Janie Leslie Vaughn. She was a homemaker and a dedicated pastors's wife , where she served beside her husband for sixty seven years. Mrs. Hinton was a member of Welcome Baptist Church.


Mrs. Hinton is survived by her husband, Reverend Joseph "Joe' W. Hinton of the home; a son, Doctor Dan Hinton and his wife, Sandra, of Pickens; a daughter, Diane Easley and her husband, Wallace, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; four grandchildren, Mitch Easley and his wife, Aimee, Derek Easley, Zach Hinton and his wife, Sarah, and Sean Hinton and three great-grandchildren, Lino, Mason and Colton.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by five brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at Welcome Baptist Church, Greenville . Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pickens.

Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a..m. Monday prior to the service.
