Mr. Luther Arthur "Art" Douglas, 79, of Easley, loving husband of Bobbie Lou Pitts Douglas, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017, at Florida Hospital East Orlando.
Art was born in Savannah, GA on January 17, 1937, to the late Harry Jack and Mary Dorothy Helmly Douglas. He worked for a decade for Borden Dairy Co. in Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC and was a member of the Exchange Club of Charleston. He owned and operated a Texaco Distributor and multiple retail and convenience stores. He was an avid baker and huntsman. Art was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Easley.
In addition to his loving wife, Art is survived by a son; Bradley Arthur Douglas (Jessica) of Flower Mound, TX; a daughter; Mary Catherine Douglas Jones of Orlando, FL; a brother; Samuel James Douglas of Savannah, GA; two granddaughters; Abby Catherine Jones and Allison Brooke Jones; and two grandsons; Tristan Bradley Douglas and Holden Grant Douglas.
He was predeceased by his two sisters; Alice Parker and Anne Ambrose; and two brothers; Harry Lewis Douglas and Frank Marion Douglas.
Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Savannah, GA, 315 Greenwich Road, Savannah, GA 31404.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at a later date in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown, 305 W. Main Street, Easley, SC 29640.
