M C Douglas Hanley, 76, of 1005 Pelzer Highway, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Anderson County, a son of the late W. C. and Mary Ann Rebecca Buffington Hanley, Mr. Hanley retired from the Belton Plant of Abney Mills.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Schram Sadlowski Hanley of the home; two daughters, Karen Hanley Taylor of Clemson and Chris Hanley Lowe of Belton, his mother-in-law, Colleen Schram of the home; five step-daughters, Ginger Ragsdale and husband, Phil, of Easley, Beth Elias of Texas, Sue Waters and husband, Mike, of Greenwood, Debbie Williams and husband, Michael, of Texas, and Linda Smith and husband, Mike, of Flat Rock, NC; a sister, Bobbie Jo Martin of Columbia; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hanley was predeceased by his first wife, Irene Hanley, who passed away in 1991, and by two brothers, two sisters, and a great-granddaugther .
Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Grace Baptist Church, in Honea Path, with Rev. Dale Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 3535 Pelham Road, Suite 101, Greenville, SC 29615.
